A zoomorphic enameled ceramic pitcher by the studio Bessone. Signature  under the base.

This pitcher with a rooster head and tail has scarified motives for decor, grey-beige color. A unique piece, a wonderful decorative object.

In style of /resembles the ceramic roosters by master French artist Jacques Pouchain, circa 1970s.

High handmade quality, very decorative vintage artist piece. In perfect condition.

Marius Bessone, born in 1929, studied ceramics and industrial technique for architecture between 1949 and 1954.

In 1954, he opened a workshop in Vallauris, France, with his wife Huguette. Huguette, was for a long time decorator at the Bessone studio, before producing her own ceramic art.
They had their own studio in
“the golden age of Vallauris” next to the most important artists of their time, such as Picasso Derval, Raty, Capron, …  and kept working in the 60s, 70s, 80s.
